About

Welcome to My Holland Avenue. The City of Ottawa has scheduled a project to replace the water mains on Holland Avenue from Scott to Tyndall Street.  This unexpected project (See Notice), due to run throughout the summer/fall of 2012, provides an ideal opportunity for residents and businesses to work together to create a vision for Holland Avenue and advise the City.

My Holland Avenue is a meeting place for residents, businesses, families, commuters and workers alike in the Wellington Village, Hintonburg and Civic Hospital corridor.  It is a living site here to inform and collaborate on a vision for a re-imagined Holland Avenue; an online conduit for community input to influence and contribute at every opportunity in designing a street-scape that best meets all of our area’s  dynamic needs.

    Hi there,

Interesting blog. I am a resident of Holland Ave and very concerned about the speed of traffic along the street. I have been in touch with the city to ask that a traffic study is completed.

I am all for the creation of a more vibrant livable community, but for those of us who live on Holland, this means taking into consideration the fact that Holland is a family street, with lots and LOTS of young children. We are not a corridor to speed through on the way to hintonburg or wellington west.

My husband and I are active community members, and I am glad to have found your blog. My hope is that the community takes into consideration the fact that Holland is a residential street (though perhaps not formally designated as such) especially south of the 417.

    Thank you,

    Hazel
